For nearly a year, FIU has been participating in international exchange program, led by the University of Washington and with the involvement of such universities as Bilkent University, Koç University, Ankara University of Social Sciences, Istanbul University, New York University, London University, Duke University, Oxford University, California University and Harvard University. The Baki Project is being implemented by academics from the fields of Ottoman literature and Computer Engineering. The project seeks to apply digital technologies to non-Latin alphabet systems, and in this case to create an exemplary digital edition of the works of a well-known Ottoman poet. FIU was represented at the workshop by Dr. Ayşe Dalyan.
