Girne Mayor, Nidai Güngördü, visited FIU and held a meeting with the Rector, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Y. Öztoprak.

Mr Güngördü summarized current municipality projects, including the cycling road project, which will offer students a quick and safe transportation option in the locality, and enhanced control and inspection of the food sector. The goal is to offer all local residents, students, and tourists a top quality service and experience.

Mr Güngördü and Prof Öztoprak jointly emphasized the importance of collaboration between the city and the university, and the role of the university in contributing to the welfare of the community and employment.
